Working since 2007 as a tattoo artist, LeeStewartwas influenced early on by the street art of Berlin and East Asian sumi-e paintings, with her individual brushstroke tattoos capturing an expressionistic spirit of the subject, rather than depicting the subject matter directly.

Having now moved onto purely abstract compositions,Stewart's work concentrates on flow, movement and texture. Her dynamic, sweeping gestures travel from the painting to the human body where they breathe, animate and follow the person it is made for, resulting in individually tailored one-off pieces that depict the wearer's story in an abstract way.
