Rooted in a conservative contextual background rich in meaning and symbolism, Minhwa shares intriguing parallels with traditional tattoo designs. 

Won Kim's work involves merging the distinct techniques of painting tattoo flash with the traditional methods used in Minhwa, all while adhering to the foundational principles of painting traditional tattoo designs.

Won Kim's creative journey is motivated by the legacy of her uncle, Master Man Hee Kim, a revered figure and Minhwa restorer. In her pursuit and exploration of the two worlds, Won Kim aims to pay homage to his influence by crafting her own Minhwa style—a blend of tradition and modernity—to keep this art form vibrant and evolving.
