The work by misq focuses on an architectural dwelling or crib for Manaeki Neko, influenced by abstractions of the Maneki Neko folk tale, fictional storytelling, superstition, metaphoric symbolism, Japanese cityscape influence, vaporwave art and cat memes. In the interiors and architectural design you will find references of fluorescent/neon coloring, pristine sparkling materials and signage, a catnip plantation, disproportionately scaled miscellaneous items and shrine for Maneki Neko.
misq is a Sydney born digital artist. His work is heavily influenced by rhythm, proportion and coloring which first started to develop from his beginnings in graffiti that bridged into his work today. misq is short for miscellaneous. That folder you keep on your PC desktop where you place files and images that don’t fit the usual categorization but are still too important to delete; That’s misq. misq’s design style is wide and varied, embracing the inclusion of anything and everything miscellaneous within his work.
