Saki-ori (lit. "split-weave") is an ultimate form of repurposed textile. It is created by shredding old, worn cloth into thin strips and weaving them as weft with cotton thread as warp. The saki-ori technique results in a sturdy, dense fabric that is typically sewn into jackets or into blankets to cover a futon duvet.
50-100 years old, this is an exceptional piece of saki-ori woven with multi-color cloth and trimmed with fabric.
122 x 130 cm (48 x 51.2 inches)
Due to the nature of vintage fabric, the product may have fades, fabric pulls, wears, stains, small holes or patches. We hope you will enjoy the richness and variation of repurposed fabric.
