Mitchell Tran

Mitchell’s practice investigates the intersection of Eastern and Western cultural ideologies; their similarities, differences and influences on individuals attempting to understand and shape their identity in a dynamically globalised world.

With references to animals, cultural symbols and elements from the natural world, he creates visual narratives that reflect the harmonious and sometimes jarring nature of co-existing subject matters which continue to inform the zeitgeist of our contemporary landscape. Mitchell is currently developing a series of drawings which explore the
multiple facets of social and personal identity through symbolic
mundane objects.
